What is it I need?

Hi.

I need to find two metal thingies to hold a bit of 4x2 or similar to secure my garage doors internally. Ive no idea what you would call what I need and I have looked at the diy stores without success.

They cold be metal rectangles to slide the wooden bar into or u shapes to hold the wooden bar to stop the door being forced from the outside.

Im sure someone out there will have the answer!

tz - up & over doors - consider, as an alternative to what the 7th Cavalry used to use when securing the gates to their forts, :LOL: a couple of tower bolts fixed low level on the doors. Steel doors - used nut/bolts or pop-rivets to fix. Much more convenient to lock/unlock than weilding a 7' length of timber
 
Try a local blacksmith. (yellow pages)

A local engineering firm.

Your local garage (ask if the do any welding)
