At the bottom of our garden we have just cleared what was mostly a wasteland area with the intention of turfing it. However, it slopes off towards the edge... but not close enough to the edge to be useable (if that makes sense). We would like to even it out buy filling in the 'hole'. I have calculated it to be roughly 11 cubic metres that will need to be filled. Obviously doing this with topsoil entirely would be very expensive.

Is there somewhere in the Bristol area that we could buy 8 cubic metres of hardcore and 3 cubic metres of top soil without it breaking the bank?

And would this be suitable for turfing, or would we need more top soil?

The cheapest quote I could find for 11m of top soil was £376

what is this hole you describe? A pic or more detailed description would help.
