grass different in colour

hello all first time on here so please be gentle lol

i used to have a sloping garden which i levelled flat with a jcb, top soiled it and grass seeded it. the grass grew lovely but now ive noticed that the grass on the deeper half is lush and green ,but the shallow half is quite thin and lighter green what could be the cause? all help will be welcome

you have answered your own quetion.

the topsoil you used to make your garden level is better thn your existing top soil, its got more "food" in it

thanks for that breezer,is there anything i could add to the soil to equal out the results?

have another look next year, it may even out

if not you can top-dress it (this can also include grit sand to level small depressions and improve the surface)
