steep staircase

The staircase is very steep and each step is very narrow. There is a wall on each side. My home is very old and I am going to renovate many areas, so no solution to big. I wish to lengthen the slope and redo the stairs. I am not sure were to begin.

but in general you will have to increase your staircase length by about 15% have you got any extra room to accomodate a longer staircase without encroaching on any space essential for doors or landings ect

you will need a new staircase your first step i would have thought is ask a builder for his oppinion as to how much he would charge
