I want to lay a bamboo click floating floor in a bedroom but need to have access to pipework and electrics for kitchen below - could I lay partial wood and have a strip of carpet but how would I edge the wooden floor to stop them moving or is it only best to do the whole floor with wooden strips and get access from below which is difficult as I would like to board and skim the kitchen ceiling thanks

you could always shape a piece of timber and fix that in place where you want the carpet/floating floor to start,at least that will be a physical barrier which you could either paint or stain to required colour?.

I could thanks - was hoping I could buy a 4m edging strip in brass or similar
