Go to a indie electrical wholesale shop and buy the correct size threaded lamp holder

:D

all the lamp holder's I've seen are the same size thread

The most common sizes are 1/2 inch and 10mm, there is a 13mm but not too popular,

can you tell me the name of the adapter I need to fit the lamp holder to the lamp stand, you can see a photo of the lamp holder I'm using in my post

Sounds like you need a 1/2 inch external to 10mm internal reducer and a

10mm nipple about 15mm long all made of plastic which is rare.

However they are made in brass, but as you are using a plastic holder it

would not be earthed.

Only if you have an earth wire present

then I would suggest a brass lampholder, and that would

earth the thread also.

Is the wire 3 core including an earth wire.

Will give you some idea what is available.

Thanks for the prompt reply, the cable has to wires blue and brown,
I could change the cable to a three wire cable and buy a brass lamp holder,
