Hi there.

Got a combi valiant central heating boiler about 6-8 years old.
progress so far.......

clean up the thermocoulpe
but problem still exist . it goes out within a few minutes or 1hr or so.

1 other thing i notice the bolier is loosing pressure
I topped it up to 1.5 bar
but 2 hours later it was down 0
I went round all the rads and checked to see if there was any air in them
only the one in the loft had air which has been removed
since then i top up the boiler again to 1.5 bar
the heating seem to work for about 4 hours but the pressure gauge was at 2.5 bar
switch it off . check in the morning the pressure bar was down to 0 bar again?
and the pilot light still keep going off with a loud thud noise..

more ivestigative and this is what i found?

Right I\\\'ve let the boiler cool down as i was running it too hot.
the pressure was down to about 0.5bar

check the outlet pipe which leads out in the back garden ( overflow pipe)
its dry but looks like it been spilling water as the ground looks moist.

been to the rad in the loft and let the air out

fill up the rad to about 1.7 bar

turn the boiler settings low to about 2-3

fired up the boiler again .

turn on the c/heating

went outside and the overflow pipe is dripping 2 drops a second .

what does all this mean ?
