I am planning to rebuild my kitchen with a sink on an island. The room has a solid floor (house aprox 15 years old). I have been told there should be enough room above the damp proof membrane (DPM) to bury the waste in a channel. However I am not sure what to do at the outside wall as the pipe will be below the wall damp proof course (DPC). Do I need to route the wall DPC under the pipe or tunnel through the floor DPM and seal it?
Thanks in advance.

the dpc and dpm should link together, you can;t go under one and over the other!. If its short I'd bury the lot in waterproof concrete, if longer probably pea gravel in a sealed trench. Building Control dept of your local authority will give you chapter and verse. |
