leaking sink revisited

Thanks for the comments on stop water leaking though the underside of the plug hole, which was ''use a rubber bung , works every time''

What is a rubber bung, do you mean a large rubber washer that i could place under the plug hole. because........

When you look down into the sink,if you put the plug in and fill the sink and leave it for a while, the water will still drain out because it is getting underneath the outside of the plug hole.

The part suggested is to fit washbasins.
The poster said the leak is on his sink.
