Depends on the route and gradient of the pipes. If the bath waste has to go out past the shower and the pipes are flattish then the shower tray will fill up. Ideally take the wastes out separately. Sometimes that's impractical so all you can do is take them away and down as far as possible and hope. You can get non-return valves for wastes but I would expect them to get fouled with hair etc on a shower waste.
