Thermostatic mixer shower lifetime.

Hello,

I've got a Mira Miniduo (part of their compact range with 110mm pipe centres).

As a general question, what is the life time of thermostatic showers? Is it easy to get spares, or should the thing break do you have to resort to getting a new shower?

It depends on the hardness of your water and the temperature of your hot water.

For a Mira, yes.

The installer left the manual for us, and I was quite impressed to see the various forms of help that Mira offer eg technical helpline.

I hope nothing will go wrong for a long time, but it's always nice to have reassurance.

IMHO, Mira is about the second best shower hardware manufacturer in the country, the best being Aqualisa. I don't see the point of buying a valve from anyone else, unless you need either a venturi valve, or something in an unusual style, or unless you want to buy a German valve.
