I have just splashed out on this nail gun and tried to fire 90mm ring shanked, blue tipped nails into C16 Pine timber and found that the gun could not sink the entire nail. I was left with 20mm protruding. I then fired 75mm ring shanked and 20 percent did the same. I was told that this gun was tested on C24 and that the gun would struggle with C16. It was suggested that I try lubricate the nail tips but to no avail. Sounds like a load of rubbish, I would expect it to cope no probs. Anyone encountered this before? Defective tool?

Yes, I would'nt play with one of these if I did'nt know how to use it. It's the first time I have used it to put together 6"x2" framing, just always used hammer and nail. Previously I just used guns on smaller timber with smaller nails.

I have used these guns with 90 mm nails for years with no problem ( apart from the odd glitch) but never with the nails not sinking. I would take it back and take an offcut of the timber with you to show them. At the very least you should get a replacement machine.

Thanx DAZB and Chappers, I will try another gas refill and failing that I will return it. Will keep you posted.
