hi all,
i am currently building a garage incorperating a catnic lintel over the garage door. we have decided to install the garage door at the rear of the brick pilars to maximise the opening of the garage door which creates my new small problem, The underside of the catnic lintel.

the whole of the bottom of the lintel including the polystyrene type insulation between will be exposed which will look unsightly. can anyone recomend any thing to go beneath the lintel to improve the looks whist covering the bottom etc etc??

p.s

or is it just a case of a piece of soffit etc??

affirmative.

there are a plethora of trims available to finish the edges. we use hollow soffit and 'j' trim a fair bit, but prefer to see the soffit fixed in perpendicular cut sections as opposed to one linear piece. ;)
