Hi

I was hoping someone could help sort out a leaky kitchen sink pipe for me. I unblocked the horizontal pipe which is after and cleaned it out but on reassembling the unit there is a leak. The leak is after the u bend where it joins the horizontal pipe. There is no thread on the horizontal bit so I am not sure how it is meant to create a water tight seal.

Do I need some petroleum jelly?

Thank you

It pushes into the trap and is sealed by the tapered rubber and compression joint. Check the rubber is fitted properly or it will never seal! :(

Thank you for replying. I managed to do it first time. What I found helpful to do was put the seal onto the horizontal pipe and then put on the u bend and then screw shut the assembly.

Saved about 68 pounds!
