Hi all,

I'm looking to get a new fire fitted in place of the old, now the room is double glazed with no trickle vents and there isn't an air brick either.

If the new fires output is below 7KW will there be a need for an airbrick?

I've just spoke to building regs who were no use what so ever, they just said to ask the corgi registered installer but I'd like to know in advance.

Regards

Will

Cheers Richard, it still seems to be a bit of a grey area as it states on page 39 that permanently open air vents may not be necessary for DFE fires with ratings not exceeding 7kW (net).

Hmmm

Read the MI.

Although flued gas appliances below 7Kw don't normally need additional ventilation, some manufacturers may requier you to have an additional vent installed.
