Hi - Does anyone have a quick way of repairing loose door hinges? The screws are just turning in the hole with no grip and when hammered in they soon come loose again. Would longer screws be the best option? Would you need special wood screws?
Many thanks.

yeah, stop hammering them in they arent crinkle cut nails!!
you could try filling the holes with match sticks too

Thanks Guys - sorry for basic questions but are timber dowels like wall plugs so that the screws will have something to grip into? Is this the same theory with the match sticks?

Yes - use them to replace the timber that is no longer there!

To simplify:

Get a piece of wood and shape it with a penknife or craft knife 'till it fits snug into the screw hole, then add glue and tap it in, then nick it off with a wood chisel.
