back again with some pics.
The first three pics show the wall as it is now. Most of it is like pic 1 and 2, some of it is like pic 3. I was intending to patch point the bits that look line pic 3 but can you tell me if the wall in pic 1 and 2 is shot as well.
The last two pics show the garage wall i've raked out today. This was a mess cause the previous owner had decking right up to the garage wall and the water could not drain away from the wall resulting in hardly any mortar left. I have now repointed it and will show you pics once it is dry.
