We have a garage which is detached from our 1950s house. The side door into the garden has seen better days and is in need of replacement. I'm quite comfortable with hanging the door, but the frame needs replacing and I'm a little worried about how to do this?

The walls of the garage are a single thickness brick and I'm not sure how to make the frame. The ones I've seen seem to be intended for a house door buried in a cavity wall. I need something thinner.

Any advice would be gratefully received. Do I need to buy a router and make my own frame? Is this even practical? What wood should I be using.
