I am replacing my old gravity feed shower with a new ShowerForce 1500XT. The old shower has a transformer dropping the 240volts down to 24volts. Any idea why and can I remove it?

your old shower has a 24v pump fitted, if the new shower your fitting is mains 240v then you can remove the transformer
