Not from boiler itself and not all the time, but can be sufficiently loud enough to wake everyone up ..... have bled radiators whilst boiler is running, no immediate air problem I can see .... help

I can see an immediate problem, you haven't given us ANY useful information whatever. Read the posts at the top of the forum, then start again.

ok, will go away, have a sulk and re-write my question :)

 you got away lightly, cos they usually stone people to death in afghanistan for that type of activity...

I am getting the same symptoms and after the heaing cuts out on timer or reaches desired temp I get a banging on pipes around pump and back at the boiler also the expansion pipe gurgles and splatters back into the tank.

Feroli sigma 60 y plan, grundfos pump on speed 3 no air in rads.

Currently running flusher in sys for week then will drain and re add additive.

is there a way I could check this?

I believe the 3 way valve is about 5 years old (Honeywell) as it the pump (Grundfoss) and stat (Honeywell) t6360b.

Is there anything that could be adjusted to shut the boiler off quicker ?

Appart from this, I am considering replacing the room stat with a honeywell CM 67 to set night time low temps e.t.c. Is the CM 67 a good unit.

Cheers

Yoy could check to see if the system by-pass is open
