Hi all

A few weeks back we ripped up the back garden lawn as it was in a sorry state...........we still have some levelling to do to get it completely ready for the turf

Just one question.....there are a few small green weeds appearing.....which Im worried about

Plan is to go round and dig most of em up however if a few are missed will they not grow through the new lawn when its laid ......making the whole process pointless........is it best to poison.....or rip the weeds up???

Thanks

Dig out the perennial weeds which have significant roots. Hoe off any new ones that grow (or flame gun), repeat in a couple of weeks. Any weeds that remain will not cause mush of a problem. Even if you get them all, other weeds will arrive by wind or birds, so if your dream is a pristine lawn, life will be hard. Ironically, if you had plodded through managing your old lawn, it could have been in a reasonable state, but with less work than you now have.

Brill thanks.....old lawn was a mess anyway....neeeded to do a lot of landscaping so hence we ripped up the old

There only a few small things appearing so will dig em up tommorrow
