I'm doing 'maintenance' on my central heating. I've discovered a couple of dodgy hep2o grab rings and can't get them until tomorrow.

So obviously the CH pressure is zero and the boiler is flashing alternate green/red to tell me such.

The problem is whenever the CH loses pressure, we can't get any hot water from the taps.. I have the selector to water only but doesn't make a difference.

I can't open the filling loop to re-pressurize obviously as I have a fitting off so is there any way to get hot water whilst the CH is out of action?

Not without repressururising the heating circuit.
If you have the fittings and pipe you can run a short bit of pipe between the flow and return, represurise and you will have hot water.

afraid not , you need to have the boiler pressurised to around 1 bar for the hot water to function , can you cap off the open ends ?
