Hi , iv'e just constructed a new porch area of about 4 sq mts. Could anyone suggest a suitable ceiling covering apart from UPVC ? i have downlighters being fitted in the ceiling so what ever material i use must be ok with fitting of lights. Do they make a suitable exterior grade plasterboard ?
Thanks

As long as the porch itself is not subject to damp (has a damp proof membrane in the floor & proper cavity walls) you could use Duplex (foil back) plasterboard. I lined & plastered my porch walls with it some 3 years ago & not had any problems but the roof is actually T & G pine, painted white; only reason for this is it was already fitted under the existing pitch roof which I bricked in to form the porch.

Moisture Resistent plasterboard (green) would be more suitable if the porch is subject to damp inside but it must be primed befroe plastering.

Hi, thanks for the reply but i forgot to mention the porch isn't enclosed.
It's more a dry area before the main front door.
Thanks
