When the boiler first comes on in the morning, it makes a loud slow bubbling/banging sound for about a couple of minutes and the cold water main pipe vibrates, but heating and hot water comes on once the noise has stopped. Have bled the radiators, and pump (which was replaced a few months ago) but no air came out. It's a 6 year old PowerMax 155 Combination boiler. We live in a hard water area. Any ideas for curing the problem? Thanks in advance.

Any new boilers over 3 months old need replacing now, it''s part of the youthinasia scheme to keep the environment clean and the vat up on appliance sales.

hi im a powermax specialist and cant off the top of my head think what the cause is, i have two possabilities the first is the sump pump if this is on its way out it would make the boiler quietly bang, the second may be the burner head these can again quietly bang when they heat up. both of these wouldnt cause the water pipe to vibrate, thats normally caused by the blender valve or mini expansion vessel. i would be more than happy to talk to you and try to get a better picture of whats wrong.my business card is in the find an expert type in a "po12" postcode
