yes i know its not correct, but i have a rcd outdoor socket here. no receipts or anything i got it left over from a job. if i fit this and someone pushes the rcd test button am i right in thinking this could activate the rcd in the consumer unit too? or does the way the test button work means it will only trip the sockewt rcd? thanks

It would appear that it is different between makes. Theoretically if the RCD test was a normal one which imballances via a resistor across L&N on then it shouldn't trip upstream devices. Only way to be sure is to test it - stick a plug on it, plug it in and try it.
I've had some that "test" to earth....

I have had 10ma sockets which when test button is pressed trip 100ma in main panel. Never checked how they were wired. The 10ma was MK and 100ma was Telemecnique.
