how long paint over new render

Give it a week or so to dry and cure slowly. 
Hi Roy,, yes, this young fella of ours is diy mad. He's nine in November and always talks about diynot. He's had a go plastering, harling, putting up coving, we made a bird house, he helped his dad build decking last year,, and today, he's been helping me paint our (granny and grandads) bedroom, which was skimmed a few weeks ago. He's really "chuffed" being a new member of diynot. and i love him and his sister to bits.
