this morning the boilker wont fire up at all when water taps are open, ch is still fine. its a vailant 282/1e and this problem only occurred a few days ago

pls any ideas would be much appreciated

Release some water out of your system (drain valve ) to get the pressure back to down to 1 bar. If the pressure keeps going back up you will need a heating engineer. Your problem could be a faulty flow switch not sensing the change in pressure when you open your hot tap.
Not a diy job and you will have to call in a Corgi :)
:D

just had engineer out who reckons its diverter valve and wants to charge £500+vat to replace it, thats the price of a brand new boiler

Well it is Xmas :D

Seriously tho you don't have to take the first quote. Ring around and ask how much to supply and fit diverter valve.
Merry Xmas :D

went and got part myself and fitted it, now working fine just followed manual and hey presto...
all for the grand total of £53inc vat

thanx for help
