what is the criteria for installing unslotted waste unit in basin in bathroom?
when would you use slotted waste unit?

Slotted waste if the overflow is part of the ceramic "casting" of the basin.

Make sure the water tight seal is made between the locking nut and its thread and the same nut and the base of the sink.
