getting paid help

hi just wondering the best way to get paid help through the books,i need help every now and then.what would be the best way to put it through the books.

If the help is self-employed he/she can issue you with an invoice you put through the books. Make sure he/she has other clients too otherwise the IR can come to you for taxes.

Not entirely sure how it works as I work as a sub contractor rather than employ one. But my limited understanding is that you need the person you are employing to register as a subcontractor under the CIS scheme. They invoice you and you have to deduct 20% at source and provide them with a monthly statement.
