My friend told me even i could fit this lol but I am stuck.

What is is my old thermostat cylinder had 4 wires going in to it Blue ,Brown, Black and green and yellow one.

My problem is that the new thermostat only has on the diagram 2 wires going in to cylinder in the C AND 1 slots. Do I need it rewired or can I use 2 of the other wires ?

Many Thanks

It will depend on what it is being used to control. Likely it is Class II or Double insulated so will not need green and yellow wire but the Y type central heating

requires the thermostat to swap supply rather then switch on and off so it needs a common and two outputs to work.

Maybe you have wrong switch?

That's great thankyou think I understand a bit better and looks like its the wrong switch.
