chimney stack has new lead flashings, new roughcasting, chimney cans and caps, which fixed original ingress problem. no obvious traces of water or dampness inside attic on any timber or blockwork of stack wher you would expect. plenty of spiders though which is usually a good sign!!! but below in bedroom where plasterboard meets against stonework there is a small fist like 3" damp patch, in this area only. begining to think there is something in stone (its not a weeping/crying stone either) thats making this section of plasterboard damp. not a problem yet but one of those niggly ones you dont want beaten on!!!!! any info much appreciated folks. house is only 15 year old.
