Just turned on the rads for the 1st time since March/April. Rads not heating and pump is making a strange noise, sounds 'dry' if that makes sense but only now and then, seems to run fine rest of the time but of course rads don't heat :?: .

The pump is used for both the hot water and the heating, using valve, pump doesn't make a noise when just on hot water??

I sort of assume it's air but have bled all rads with pump running and they only had v small amount of air and bled pipe close to tank, again water came straight out, no air.

Any ideas, can't understand this?

Thanks.

if u unscrew the bleed screw on the pump ... put a screwdriver in and see if its actually spinning .. if not try turning the screwdriver to kickstart the pump , it may very well be stuck
