We have a Mynute 20e CH only boiler that has developed a weep.
The leak is on the thread of the fitting that houses the lever that empties the boiler, where it screws into the base of the pump. Does this make sense??

Its just a tiny drip, thats been going a while by the looks of things. Ive been loking everywhere on the system for a leak that gradualy, and obviously drops the pressure over time.

Anyway, what i want to know is how big of a job is it to cure (by a bona fide CH guy)....and what has to be done to fix it - stripping stuff out etc.?

Im only asking because if its a 'major operation' that wont be cheap, ill have to opt to live with it and just keep an eye on the pressure for a while longer, as funds are limited at the moment.

Thanks in advance.

prv is leaking it needs either replacing or removing and the thread sealing

you will need to drain the system and remove it and sort it

then refill bleed etc

not that difficult a job

You originally implied that you were considering professional attention.

To put that into perspective, we would charge a diagnostic fee of £84 and sort it out including a boiler service and come quickly.

If it was not deemed urgent then we would come within about 10 days and deal with it as a service item at £55.

Both these prices are in our local area and do not include congestion charge areas or parking costs.
