The hot and cold water pipes are next to the shower tray and the plumber wants to run them up the side of the shower door and back down into the cubicle to install shower, by the sounds of it there are going to be a lot of pipes. Isn't there a tidier way?
use plastic and bury it in the wall

the water regs make it difficult to legit. run pipes in the walls without a lot of trouble and mess. In older houses with solid walls it would mean constructing a false wall with stud work and special cement board or synthetic building board.
