Burying SWA Cable
Reply with quote Thanks

I have dug my trench for my armoured cable down to 18".
I understand that it is best to get warning sleeving over the cable.

What type of warning sleeving do i need to get?
Can anyone post me a link?

Cheers

The warning tape goes close to the surface so you hit the yellow warning tape before the cable.
Something like this: http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/Cable_Accessories_Index/Electric_Cable_Below_Tape/index.html#Electric_Cable_Below_Tape

This electrician that you're using - is he OK with you doing all this work, and making all these decisions without him?

What's going to happen come certification time?

Yes not a problem at all, the sparky concerned is employed by my old man.
I will do the donkey work like digging and laying the cables (leaving them open and viewable.
When he pops over to make the final connections and inspect the cable laying he will of course sign the job off and give me the certs required.
