hi guys, wen runnin the shower i seam to get a smell commin from the electric cuboard just where the live feed comes from the main 100 amp fuse also this fuse(service head fuse) gets quite hot at time and makes a cracklin noise. i no ive got to call the lecky board but can any one tell me why its happening.? ps checked the wires on the shower (pull cord switch and found the neg wire had gone black and was loose at the terminal screw after fixing it, it was ok and smell went for a couple of weeks but as come bk ??

you didnt fix anything, you tightened a burnt carbonised cable into a burnt carbonised terminal, a high resistance joint

lets look at the basics . We have water, am unexplained fault, burning wires and fixtures, mains voltage and in the middle you stand naked and wet. You are either winding up all up or not valueing your life very highly.
I had the same problem. It turned out to be a loose neutral in my main RCD (TT earthing) from the meter tails. It is very important that you do something about it now, as it will only get worse and is a very real fire hazard.

Nobody is stalking anybody - if you'd seen the various posts before they were removed you would know that, and as you didn't and dont then you should not speculate about what happened.
