Vaillant Boiler temperature settings

The radiators at the far end from the boiler and are hot at the top and cooler at the bottom.
These are the old style.
The feed pipe is at the top of the radiator and the 'out' is at the bottom.
I wondered if the pipe supplying the hot water should be at the bottom so the hot water can rise?

the VR65 wiring box is grey about 5"high by 7" wide and had the word vaillant on it all the wiring will go to it.
the alternatives are usually same size as a double plug with a flat cover plate instead of the 2 sockets

After increasing the temperature of the boiler to 63C and balancing the Rads the even temperature spread to all Rads has been achieved.
The Rads near the boiler only needed to be open slightly to do the job.
The downside is that there is regular clunking/tapping from the rads closest to the boiler. Also, you hear a water 'sloshing' noise from time to time.
I assume this is because of the temperature increase?
How do I remedy this?

Sounds like you may have unidirectional TRVs ont hose rads.

May be trapped air, try bleeding.

Hi Tony,
The valves are Drayton TRV4's.
All the rads have been bled - no air traps in Rads.

TRV4s are bi-directional.

You need to listen with a stick to see whats tapping.

Its not just expansion clicks where the pipes meet wood flooring?

Where is the air noise from?

Tony,
The boiler is in a separate room behind the garage.
The problem bedroom is next to that.
I think the 'whooshing' is coming from the boiler.
There is a radiator in the boiler room (The first Rad in the line) and I think that may be the one where the noise begins.
I went in and it was clicking.
When I turned the valve a touch it stopped.
All the pipes are well lagged and do not contact wood or brick anywhere on the run.
Second thoughts I think the whooshing may also be coming from the radiator (recently fitted) in the boiler house.
It does not need bleeding.

Does water come out of the bleed screws?

Ah Ha!!
It is a double Rad with 2 bleed screws.
There was air in both sides!!
The Rad felt hot at the top and the plumber had bled it, but you were right!!
