I turned one radiator off the other day as that particular room was boiling hot, but now it won't heat up again. I heard from a local plumber that the valve inside the thermostat can get stuck but i can't work out how to remove the thermostat cover. It looked easy when the plumber did it last time! Any tips?

You'll have to look between head and valve to see what holds the two parts together. Could be a knurled nut just needs unscrewing, or maybe a circlip or possibly a securing screw. Manufacturers adopt different methods, perhaps someone can tell you the method if you can give more detail on the manufacturer. I've only seen those with knurled nut.

It's a honeywell thermostat, looks a few years old. There's a black button in between numbers 3 and 4 which clicks in and out when you turn the thermostat round. Not sure if that's involved in removing the cover?
