Electronic job sheets

Hi guy's

We are looking towards getting some form of electronic job sheet management.

We have 3? options
1) Digipen type. Good but we sub contract and would need to buy their job sheets in the correct form
2) PDA. good but is it a bit small for clarity
3) laptop + dongle. great stores technical but customer can't sign..

There are lots of other Plus/minus for all the above but can anyone who has experience of these let me know their thoughts

we use what we call "tablets" in college, they are small laptops and have a screen which flips round and down on top of the keyboard so that we can write on the screen with the plastic "pen" provided, we use it to complete assessment sheets and get the apprentice to "write" their comments and sign, once on there we save to the main server as a complete record, will get the make/model on monday and ask the IT guy (if i can understand his answer) what the software is

kirk that sounds like the panasonic toughbooks the BG guys use. quite pricey asfaik

we use Toshiba PORTEGE M750, had a quick look and seen them for about £950 plus VAT, not sure if they will be cheaper if you search about
