There is a hairline crack in the pebbledash on the front of the house about 18 inches long. The Pebbledash was probably put on in the 1970's and the house was built in the 1920's. It doesn't sound hollow when I tap either side of it, so I don't think the render is coming away from the wall or anything.

Anywhoo, what would be the easiest way to fill this crack? I was thinking of brushing some cement based filler into the crack. Would this be the right way to go?

Thanks

Trying to fill a crack in pebbledash is not easy, and could/would end up looking unsightly, if you start trying to brush cement fillers etc into it. As long as it's not causing any problems, (damp/water penetration),, that's the thing that matters.
With a thin hairline crack 18"long that's causing no problems, and sounds solid when you tap round about it, i'd just leave it for now,,, but keep an eye on it, especially over the winter.

Roughcaster.
