Hi

About 18 months ago we had our kitchen refitted which included replacing the cooker with an integrated unit with a separate gas hob. The company that did the work said that they were Corgi registered etc but we never got our certificate. Having chased them up again for it, they are now saying that as the regs have changed to Gas Safe, certificates aren't needed for replacement hobs.

Can anyone confirm whether this is right and if it is likely to cause us problems when we come to sell on the house?

Thanks

yes they should have notified it, but like most out there they couldn't be arsed.
under the new governing body it is no longer needed.
so the upshot is don't worry it was only the dog ripping everyone!

the regs changed on 1st April 2009 before this date it was a requirement of corgi membership to notify hobs and cookers, corgi would then send a compliance certificate to the house holder.
After 1st April 2009 gas safe do not require cooking appliances to be notifed.
As your hob was installed before 1st April 2009 it was a requirement to notify it.

Unlikely to cause any problems and yes Gas Safe are no longer asking for flueless cooking appliances to be registered compulsorily.
