For the last 24 hours my thermostat has been reading the room temperature as 35 degrees. Consequently I can't override the system and put it on constant.

Am Freezing, my babies thermometer is reading a room temp of 16. The system is about 5 years old and I have hot water.

Do you have a combi boiler or a system (with a tank in airing cupboard)?

Definately a Combi boiler (know that one !!)

Oh dear no easy way to override your faulty roomstat.
Do you know an electrician who can replace stat for you?

In the mean time try turning off power to the boiler and thermostat for a few minutes then restart.

Yes I do know an electrician I can call on. Just wanted to make sure their was something wrong (not user error etc) Thank you very much will try your advice.
