Hi Folks,

I've sanded and emulsioned the lid of a toilet cistern cause it was covered in ciggerette burns and i couldn't get a replacement. Can anyone foresee problems with varnishing it? Thought it would give a more dirt resistant finish, but there might be flexibility problems?

Also have storage heaters that are a bit rough looking. Again i thought there might be flexibility problems (thin metal with people leaning/sitting on it). What do you sages of paintology think?

Thanks for your time

The toilet cistern lid could be painted then coated with emulsion glaze coat, not 100% sure it wouldnt crack eventually though..
Normal varnish ditto - but with the added problem of yellowing...
Try spraying with white bumper/fender paint from a motor-factors such as Halfords , it works well on all plastics!
I think as far as the boiler tops go you may have a problem ;)
