Hello All

would anyone be able to help me with a problem I am having on a system I've been working on.

The System comprises of a Glow worm BBU with pumped CH and Gravity DHW with a cylinder and two F and E tanks in the attic. All is well on the CH side pump is starting and boiler firing on demand. Recently I am told the DHW is only warm (which it is) and not as hot as it was. There has been no work carried out on the system recently. The boiler is firing in DHW mode and the flow and return to the cylinder are getting hot. There is no air in the system as I cracked the nut on the cylinder flow connection plenty of water but again only warm (judging by the heat off the flow pipe) I expected to get burnt but didn't. Upstairs rads are getting hot which i'd expect and there seems to be no circulation problems for this reason I have not tried kettling the boiler (should I?). The electric immersion has been disconnected so I am unable to check if that works as it should. F and E tanks seem fine and the cylinder is full of water. Haven't had a huge amount of experience working on these systems so any help whatsoever would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Brian

Scale or sludge in the pipes, most likely where it connects at the boiler.

Could be air in the return.

It,ll more than likely be some probs with your F&E tank,if the cold feed is blocked youll get no head pressure to make the gravity circs circulate,it will work on heating because of the pump.No head=No circulation on gravity

Unlikely, because you would have related problems.

Of course if it's that old the cylinder could be full of scale as well.
