Hello all,

We have a Maxol Microturbo 40H MDF which is experiencing a series of problems in a place we just bought, the latest of which is a very loud and repeating banging noise as the boiler tries to ignite and fails, we think. This wakes us all at odd hours of the night and leaves the boiler in an 'error' such that it must be reset manually in order to work.

We have been told that it may be either the sensors for the gas to the combustion chamber or the ignition sparker that is failing and the loud bangs are the result??? Despite having it serviced for £80, then another visit £95, then another with no results for another £95 no one is able to find the relevant new parts or make a conclusive diagnosis. We are left in the 'cold' literally as we dont risk switching it on.

GasElec who specialise in Maxols do not have the parts either. Can anyone help... please!!?

Why do you pay £95 for someone to look, do nothing, go?
A British Gas fixed price repair might be a better investment, especially as it sounds as though there is a need for a RGI.

I doubt that. :D

How old is the boiler? these things were designed in someones shed I reckon. Combustion chamber is very compact and gives way for potential firing issues. parts centre is showing all the parts on the viewer so I imagine they can source them. Sounds like you've been had.
