my son previously had this computer and now i cant open attachments in emails.any ideas how to fix this problem???

What is the file extension?
Have you tried saving the attachment, then try & open it.

no idea as am asking my partners behalf as she has the pooter now.will find out in due course as shes working at the moment

As well as the file extensions, what email client is it? Webmail, Outlook Express, Outlook, Hotmail.
