Wind down chimney

Hi,

Could anyone tell me the best method to stop wind howling down my chimney? I have old victorian fire place in my house no longer in use but still have the chimney for it. It gets very bad at night with wind blowing down chimney and stops me sleeping.

Also a rough price would be great!

I have put a chimney ballon up mine.
Saves on wasted heat, also dont hear outside noise as much.

Good value for money, had it 18mths or so now.

Do a search for a `Colt anti-downdraught cowl', They're not too expensive at all, around about £40-£50 and are readilly available from most builders/roofing merchants or online for home delivery

Using a ballon you do not need to get on the roof & its easy to remove.
