Hi all,

My wife is having problems at home with the combi boiler.

There is a F4 message on the display and i'm wondering if any of you good people know what it is and if there is a simple fix?

Cheers in advance.

Just to update anyone who cares, it seems the cold snap is freezing the condensation pvc pipe which is causing the F4 error message.

the pipe need protecting from frost with insulated lagging, on making condence pipe bigger size

arisomar,

I think I have the same issue. Did you manage to fix it? How?

Thank! :)

1). Warn the downstairs neighbour NOT to leave via his patio door;

2). Boiled a pan of water;

3). Opened my window;

4). Threw said boiling water at the pipe!

5). Contacted landlord to have the pipe lagged :)

Lagging a condensate or any other pipe will delay freezing but when its very cold and particularly when there is a strong wind then pipes will still freeze.

Thats why an internal condensate connection is by far the better way to install boilers.
