Walk in Shower Waste Unit

Hi,

Can anyone advise me whether there is a minimum size requirement ( capacity or dimensional) for the waste chamber beneath the shower base unit. I also understand you can use either 32mm or 38mm outlet pipe, depending upon pipe length. Is this a guideline only?Are there any other sizes or considerations to take?

Use 40 mm waste pipe.
32mm is a bit small to carry away shower water.
