Gas Fire feed question...

I have an existing gas pipe that sits about 2-3 inches above floor level, and has obviously been capped. The problem I have is that I'm about to lay new laminate flooring and would like to cut the pipe flush, but I'm concerned that it is still connected at the gas supply. There is an old pipe in the gas cupboard that has been disconnected and I'm guessing that's the old feed, but don't want to risk a gas leak if i undo the nut to check.

Is it normal to cap fireplace feeds at both ends when removing a fireplace?

You need to use the services of a RGI.

there is no way to guess and i dont think some1 at the other end of a computer would advise you to touch it.

cancel the joiner and get a gas man
